How do I clean and maintain my katana?
Hi,
I have a Tensa Zangetsu replica from Bleach.
I have no idea how to clean/maintain/re-oil it.
One of my friends said to use Sewing Oil and another said to use WD40/CRC.
Are any of these good?
Are there any other ways?
I’ve had my katana for a week without maintenance, but it’s still inside the plastic bag which is inside the cardboard box. I’ve only brought it out of the box to give the blade a wipe with a tissue. After that, I just put it back into the bag and then into the box.
Do NOT put WD40 on it. You should try to get a micro-fiber cloth if you can. They sell these almost anywhere, they are often sold for cleaning HDTVs. If you can’t get a microfiber cloth, a clean cotton cloth will do. Then you will need to get some mineral oil, make sure it says pure mineral oil on the bottle. Put a few drops on the cloth and wipe both sides. Do this about once a month, or whenever it looks like it needs it.
